1913 King B Series 36hp open drive Landaulette
Chassis number: B1550
Registration number: LY5080
Freshly restored, this Edwardian is in absolutely superb order throughout with everything having been done. Engine rebuilt, interior re-trimmed & mechanics gone though including an engine & gear box rebuild. The car has a large 4 cylinder 3.8 litre engine giving it sprightly performance. The car runs at 45 to 50MPH effortlessly & does a fine job of keeping up in modern traffic. Colse to £100k was invested in the restoration so at £55k someone is going to get a bargain.
The body is coach painted in blue & black. Two latches release the Landaulette hood which folds easily down & being spring loded also goes equally easily back up. The hood is of Japanned black leather.
Artillery wheels sit on the four corners shod with new tyres. Inside is buttoned blue hide to the comfortable front seats & lovely Bedford cord cloth to the rear. The car also has a fold out bench seat allowing for 6 passengers to be accommodated.
The car has very period looking & upright coachwork The windows are lowered & raised with brocade covered straps. The car starts easily runs very very quietly having done less then 1000 miles since being completely rebuilt. The three speed gear box is easy to master & the driving experience pleasant indeed. You really have to come & drive this car to appreciate just how well it goes. The Detroit factory went broke in 1913 so this is one of the last of this model produced.
