1930 Rolls Royce Phantom II Drop Head Coupe.

Chassis number: 37GY
Registration number: GH2846

A really magnificent car recently completed. The body by coachwork experts GP Panelcraft takes its theme & styling cues from a Hooper design. The body is a two door coupe of particularly ample proportions making for extremely spacious & comfortable seating for the front occupants. The fold out dickey seat is equally commodious with all seating surfaces being finished in new burgundy leather; Burgundy carpets complete the look.

The interior is fitted with spectacular walnut to the dash, door cappings & screen pillars. A modern high quality stereo sits in its own walnut box under the dash & is linked to an assortment of concealed speakers to provide high quality surround audio.

The mechanics of the car have been totally gone through includes full cleaning and repainting of chassis, full rewire, overhaul of chassis lubrication system, cleaning out fuel system, fitting new tele-gauge, tubing to petrol gauge, cleaning all instruments, restoring of P100DB headlamps and side-lamps, wheel centres and nuts re-chromed, new exhaust system, engine and clutch parts totally stripped, cleaned and inspected. Most auxiliaries rebuilt to top standard, including clutch, magneto, carburettor (main & starting), water pump, fan assembly, all engine linkages, ignition distributor tower, etc. In addition to this the engine has had a full rebuild including re-profiling of the cam shaft, new cam followers, Bearings renewed, new pistons fitted etc etc. The radiator has been re-cored, New king pins fitted, & the suspension & braking systems fully gone through.

On the road the car is a revelation. Fitted with overdrive it runs up to 80MPH in complete silence with effortless power & a taut new feeling to the whole car. Steering is finger light once moving & free from steering play. The paintwork is a traditional Rolls-Royce Tudor & Shell grey arrangement which works beautifully on this body, the paint being in perfect order. Twin spares are mounted continental style to the rear & a sonorous klaxon to the passenger side running board. The hood is well done from black japanned leather & fits snugly. It is easily raised & lowered, with a zip out rear glass screen.

This is a car that has had a fortune spent on it & is now ready for extended touring in grand style.  It has just been driven back to the UK via the Pyrenees & Bilbao ferry after a sojourn in Monaco for the summer.  It is a magnificent car & garners the right kind of attention wherever it is parked.
