Vintage and Prestige Fine Motor Cars are proud to be offering this 1936 Alvis Speed 20 SD 3.5 Liter Sports Saloon by Charlesworth for sale. A very and original Alvis Speed 20 SD 3.5 that has had a King’s ransom spent on the mechanics recently whilst pleasingly retaining its original Patina. Indeed the Alvis Speed 20 SD 3.5 comes with well over £60,000 in recent bills covering seemingly every aspect of the Alvis Speed 20 SD 3.5 mechanics. The history file is enormous and too big to photograph in its entirety. The Alvis Speed 20 SD 3.5 is fitted with the very rare larger 3.5 liter engine giving it spirited performance
The Alvis body is a four door sports saloon by noted builder Charlesworth of Coventry. The Alvis Speed 20 SD 3.5 benefits from a Marles steering box similar to MX Series Bentleys.
The Alvis Speed 20 SD 3.5 was not credited with its "Speed" Moniker reputation for nothing!. The Alvis Speed 20 SD 3.5 was extremely for a1930's car and particularly long legged having been fitted with overdrive. The usual superb Alvis gearbox is in situ and is an absolute pleasure to use. These gearboxes were state of the art in their day and are far advanced for their time akin to modern boxes. You have to drive this Alvis Speed 20 SD 3.5 to appreciate how sporting it is and how well it goes.
The Alvis Speed 20 SD 3.5 is finished in black and maroon to the exterior with brown leather to the interior. The interior leather is beautifully patinated and original with the exception of the front seat bases. The door cards have a lovely Art Deco design to them. The Alvis Speed 20 SD 3.5 has a large sunroof that easily slides open. The Alvis Speed 20 SD 3.5 has a capacious boot with a fold flat lid allowing for carriage of additional luggage.
All in all, this is a fast capable sports saloon that goes far better than an equivalent Derby Bentley. It is light to drive, wieldy and encourages spirited driving.
