1928 ROLLS ROYCE PHANTOM 1 TOURER

Recipient of a 100 point nut & bolt restoration completed this year.  This car is in effect a brand new Rolls Royce being delivered 98 years late!!!  Every single nut & bolt was removed from the chassis  during the restoration process  which to say the least was exhaustive details for which follow:  A beautiful new tourer body was fabricated for the car as a part of the rebuild process.

CHASSIS.
Old body and guards removed.
Stripped back,blasted and inspected for any cracks or damage.
Primed and painted in black.
All components removed, checked, replaced what was required etc. 

RUNNING GEAR.
Both front and rear springs ,stripped cleaned and reassembled with new shackle pins and bushes where needed.
Front king pins stripped , checked,cleaned and replaced.
All Enots oilers removed and replaced with new, system checked, all points working.
New Wefco gaiters fitted throughout.
Both front and rear hydraulic dampers removed, overhauled and refitted.  
All wheel bearings removed for inspection, cleaned and replaced where needed.

WHEELS AND TYRES.
All 6 wheels stripped and inspected, (rust observed within the rims).
New 21"rims and spokes fitted to the original hubs.( Richard Bros in Wales )
New tryes and tubes fitted.
All rims painted to match the charcoal mudguards. 

BRAKES.
All hubs removed, stripped and old brake linings removed and new fitted.
Servo brake unit stripped and new linings fitted.
All brake linkages stripped cleaned and replaced, balance shafts also stripped, examined and replaced.  

ENGINE.
Removed and completely stripped by our local R.R. technician, all components examined.
New parts fitted - Aluminum cylinder head (complete), all new white metal bearings, new pistons, new through bolts (crankcase to cylinder head ), new oil pump.
Vibration damper stripped and examined, new springs and linings fitted.
All new gaskets and lock tabs.
Dynamo and starter motor removed, overhauled , tested and refitted, new flexi couplings also fitted.
New ignition coil, ballast resistor fitted.
Magneto stripped and serviced.
Old clutch linings removed and new fitted, factory settings reset.
All bright work re-nickled . 
Refitted and tested.

GEARBOX - DIFFERENTIAL.
Inspection covers removed, old oils removed, inspected and covers replaced filled with new oils.
Torque tube removed and stripped, new spherical felt seals fitted, center bearing checked and replaced.
New flexi drive coupling fitted. 

FUEL SYSTEM.
Fuel tank removed ,internally cleaned and sealed, repainted etc.
Refurbished fuel gauge fitted.
Carburetor stripped and overhauled.
Autovac system sent to UK for a complete strip down and overhaul.  

COOLING SYSTEM.
Radiator removed and sent to the U.K. for total a overhaul including fitting of a new core ( Manufactured by Anglia Radiators )
Shutters stripped,cleaned polished and refitted.
Water pump stripped and overhauled.
Fan assembly stripped, old bearing removed and replaced, new fan belt fitted.
All new hoses and clips fitted. 

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM AND GAUGES.
All wiring removed and rewired using correct wire and colours as indicated by Rolls Royce.
All the original gauges sent to be examined and refurbished to a as new condition. ( Otto instruments in Queensland )
New 12v battery fitted.
New dash lights fitted.
Headlights removed ( Stephen Grebel ) and refurbished.
Barker "dipping and turn" system removed and overhauled, replaced with new parts, tested for correct travel. 
Newly commissioned Stephen Grebel mudguard lights and Spotlights fitted ( Made in the UK by Genius of the Lamp )
New rear lights fitted in the style of "divers helmet".

BODY & TRIM.
New and complete 4 door open tourer body fitted in the "Baker Open Style"
New windscreen frame re manufactured to suit , fitted with up to date compliance glass.
Steering wheel refreshed.
New bonnet side panels made to suit as original.
The body  tub and bonnet including the new side louver panels to be painted in the new Bentley Grey.
Mudguards to be painted in Charcoal.
Running boards in solid timber ( Tasmanian Black Wood ) along with 4 x step mats, new battery box and tool box fitted to suit.( left and right )
New rear trunk along with it's chassis frame fitted.
All hinges and bright work to be re-nickled. 
New seats, door panels etc fitted , to be covered in a Dove Grey leather.
New carpets to be made to suit in Charcoal. 
A new hood frame fitted and to be covered in a Charcoal cloth along with cover to suit when not in use. 
New dashboard made and covered in a Bur Maple veneer.
New cocktail cabinet complete with decanters and classes made to suit also covered in the Bur Maple veneer.

The car is currently located in Perth Australia & can be shipped anywhere world wide in a 20ft container.  Australian registration will be completed as part of the sale if necessary.
