1949 Rolls Royce Silver Wraith by Vincents of Reading

Registration Number: ERD700

Chassis nUmber: WFC63

The Earls court motor Show car; This Silver Wraith has very fine non division razor edge coachwork by Vincents of Reading.  Being a non division car it is very spacious inside & well suited to the owner driver.   The current owner is 84 years old & how wishes to move the car on having put it recently into his daughters name.

Paintwork is black over light cream & is in good order thoughout.  We photographed it after it emerged from its winter layup when it is not used & the paint was a little dull not having been polished for 5 moths or so but will respond well to a proper valet & polish.

To the interior is original maroon hide piped in beige on the seats in good but patinated condition.  A lovely original maroon Astrakahn rug is found underfot in the rear.  The car likewise has very good woodwork & pleasingly has a full tool kt that slides out from under the dash board with all small tools present as when new.

This is a low mile & particualrly good driving exemple.  The brakes are pin sharp, the steering direct & play free & the car is as solid as a rock at 70MPH on the motorway.  A new clutch is being fitted prior to sale as it is right at the top of its adjustment currently.

A good assortment of bills come with the car mostly from noted marque specialist Mark Taylor near Chichester detailing extensive works that were done to the car prior to the current ownership of some 14 or so years.  During the current ownership the car has proved to be 100% reliable never having failed to proceed.  It starts right away even after not being run for several months & has a stong go anywhere feel to it.  Oil pressure is at the high end of the scale & the car runs cool at 60 to 70 degrees.  The engine is silent & runs beautifully.

To sum up, this is a car that drives in a way above average manner  as a result of the low miles covered & is delightful to take down the road.  It has just had a brand new clutch fitted & sailed though an MOT
