1935 Jaguar SS100 2.5 Litre
Chassis number: 18010
Registration Number: AD-48-86 (Portugal)
In the current ownership since 1998; this Jaguar was purchased new by a Mr Luxton & exported to Australia where it gained an extensive racing history though the 1940's up to 1950. It was purchased to form part of a prominent Portugese collection by the Swiss owner.
A thorough & exhausting restoration followed that was entrusted to expert restorer Mr John Taylor with the restoration being completed in 2002. Since then the car has done less then 2000 miles & has attended a variety of prominent motoring events including the St Moritz Classic Car Summer Meeting.
The engine is a correct 2.5 litre engine that has been fully rebuilt whilst also being sleeved & bored out to 2.9 litres giving a little more perfomance. Having a race history the engines tended to be changed each season to remain competitive.
The car is finished in a very very dark blue paintwork slightly darker then Rolls Royce midnight blue. To the interior is beige hide in as new condition. The cockpit is detail correct in all aspects with the requisite guages, switches & buttons all in their appointed places. Beige carpet completes the ensemble. The car comes wih full, albeit unused, weather equipment.
To sum up: this is a concours car from long term ownership ready for immediate use. It is driven monthly on a 20KM loop to keep it in fine running condition. Viewings are by appointment in Lisbon, but such is the quality of the car it may be readily purchased & shipped sight unseen anywhere wold wide in confidence. If keeps company in the garage with assorted multi million pound stable mates.
