20hp Barker Barrel style Tourer By Horsefields of Halifax
Chassis number: GRJ41
Registration number: HS691P (Br Columbia)
A delightfully propotioned Rolls Royce 20hp that has until recently kept company in the garage with 1911 Silver Ghost owned by the enthuisast onwer in Vancouver British Columbia where it may be viewed by prior appointment.
The current onwer notes: "Performance wise: the car starts promptly every time and the engine pulls really well – we have lots of hills here, and it manages most of them in top gear. There’s a long steep section of Highway 1 near here which it manages in top gear, whereas neither of my Ghosts could. I cruise the car at 45 to 50 mph, but my son once ran it up to at 55 mph and said it seemed fine. The car steers straight, with no wheel balance problems, and the brakes are very good. The clutch, gearbox and differential are all good. The car has twice won best in class at the Vancouver All-British Field Meet, and “Prettiest Car” in the opinion of the ladies at our local RR club picnic.
This is an extremely pretty example whoms twin we have sold several times. The white paintwork with red interior give the car a really vintage feel & the body has just the right proportions. The bonnet has recently been painted & a tim payne overdrive fitted allowing the car to cruise comfotably at 55MPH or so.
Currently in British Columbia,it may be viewed near Victoria by appointment.
