1953 Land Rover Series One 80"
Chassis number: 36104044
Registration Number: FJL451
A lovely series one Land Rover which was rebuilt a few years ago & used as an estate car & gun bus on the Castle Howard estate in Yorkshire.
At the time of rebuild the car had a new old stock military 2.25 litre petrol engine fitted giving far more useability & performance then the original unit. Electonic ignition was also installed to ensure complete reliability.
More recently a brand new canvas hood has been installed along with a fume curtain dividing the front seats from the rear & making the front occupants snug on colder days, giving the Land Rover a very smart appearance. The paintwork has just the right patina to be in keeping with the cars age, being quite smart but not scruffy.
4 New Knobbly edged tyre were installed not long ago. To the utilitarian interior the seats are green & in good order. Twin black bench seats are fitted to the rear allowing 4 guns to be carried to their posts.
Everythng works exactly as it should & the car is in fine running order. A useful tow hitch is fitted to the rear. The car is in really good all around condition with just the right light patina of use. It fires up readily & goes extremely well. A battery cut off has been installed in the dash for times the car is not in use. Masses of bills come with the car showing a "money no object" approach to its recent upkeep.
