1937 Riley 15/6 Special
Chassis number: 47K3085
Registration number: DMA791
A beautifully proportioned recently built Riley 12/6 special with echoes of Bugatti in the aluminium bodywork which tapers to a boat tail towards the rear. The paint is dark blue whilst mid brown hide is found to the seating surfaces.
The car comes with a selection of bills attesting to an engine rebuild & work to the pre-select gearbox which works flawlessly. New rings & con rods have been fitted along with a new 15/6 cam for improved performance. The main bearings have also been white metalled. The engine breathes through a triple carb set up giving excellent performance when allied with the light minimalist racer body.
Brand new tyres are fitted all round mounted on wire wheels with knock off spinners. Twin aluminium race style fuel filters are fitted on the top of the boat tail rear section. A Kenlowe fan is fitted to augment the cooling system. Twin Andre Hartford shock absorbers take care of the bumps.
The dash is of turned aluminium with a full quotient of instrumentation including both oil pressure & temperature readings. The exquisitely fabricated six branch exhaust exits straight out of the bonnet side & runs exposed down the length of the car. Twin aero screens afford real bugs in the teeth style '30's motoring. The car is very well executed, sorted & ready for immediate spirited road or competition use.
