1953 Jaguar XK120 Drop Head Coupe, Left Hand Drive
Chassis number: S677646
Registration number: EX789LR (French)
Supplied new to the USA, this is a rust free southern state car. More recently it has formed part of a small collection of sports cars in the French town of Condom.
The car is finished in older patinated British Racing green Paintwork. The interior is new pale green hide throughout & the spectacular burr Walnut dash board has been removed & re-finished. Likewise the car has been throroughly gone though mechanically with brakes shocks & drive train all having been rebuilt. Brand new knock off chrome wire wheels have also been fitted at no inconsiderable expense.
A new Black soft top has also been fitted. A simple affair to lower, one simply undoes three latches & throws it rearwards unlike the time consuming contortions required to raise & lower the OTS version.
On the road the car drives superbly. A kenlowe fan has been fitted for additional cooling & the car has also been converted to run on corrosion inhibiting Evans Waterless Coolant. The car is equipped with its original Moss gear box.
This is a pleasantly patinated car on the outside with a fresh & lovely interior inside. Fully mechanically sorted, it is a pleasure to drive with its lusty 3.4 litre twin cam unit pulling strongly in all gears & making the appropriate noises. It will remain in Condom until the end of the summer to do family wedding duties unless purchased beforehand.
