1927 Rolls Royce Phantom 1 Sedanca by Thrupp & Maberly.

Chassis number: 16LF

Registration number:YH2900

Delivered new to one K.S. Smith Exq of Millbank Westminster in June of 1927.  This car was sent to famed coach-builders Thrupp & Maberly to have its current body erected upon the chassis taking the form of an elegant & imposing sedanca deville.

The car comes to us in beautiful & very original condition. Indeed it has one awards at the RREC in the preservation class.  It has also been shown at schloss Dyck & a variety of other events.

Paintwork is Maroon over black.  The bonnet areas are getting quite thin from years of polishing to the point where the undelying aluminium is close to showing through, giving the car a wonderfully aged patina.  In recent years the car has only ever been washed in warm water & given a coating of hard wax to better preserve the paints originality.

The front seats are of black leather with black door cards. To the interior is west of England cloth in beige along with original carpets.  The car as a whole has a very untouched feel to it.  It has resided for the last 8 or so years when we previously sold it in a small private collection.

Twin occasional seats fold out from the bulkhead making this a true 7 seater.  All original nickel plated insturmennts are present & correct on the black dash board.  The 3 gallon fuel reserve with its associated tap is extant & working perfectly.  The car comes with working keys for the dooors bonnet & ignition.

The car has been well maintained without regard to cost.  Attention has been given to ensure all the details work correctly such as interior lights, the spot light & the fuel Guage.  We are giving the car a service upon arrival with fresh fluids whilst also checking the valve clearances & doing the timing.  The Magneto is a little weak so we wiill also be overhauling it as part of its service.

Mechanically the car is strong with a quiet engine that regularly starts off the advance / retard lever once warm.  5 years ago the engine was disassmbled  & checked over with all the cooling galleries being cleaned out  from accumulated silt as the car was starting to run hot on warmer days.  It is now back to running cool as per factory spec.

The car comes to us with its original Ace wheel discs, under trays, hand operated spot lamp etc etc.  It really is a time warp car & one for afficionados of originality.
