1911 Rolls Royce Silver Ghost.

Chassis number: 1645

Registration number: B58-282 (B Columbia)

A spectacular Silver Ghost carrying its original & grand Hooper Limousine bodywork.  This car has been under the current ownership for over a decade during which time it has done several thousand mile plus tours & also won prizes.  The car has been shown at Pebble Beach in recent years.

The cars engine has had a recent overhaul including High Compression pistons from noted specialist Steve Litton along with  rebored blocks, etc etc.  The correct Charles A Vanderveld (C.A.V.) dynamo has been refurbished & is fitted.  The car sits on straight sided tyres mounted to Warland artillery wheels, but has a set of beaded edge versions available with the car.  The car has won a price recently for "Quietest Ghost Engine"; a testament to the quality of the rebuild.  The car comes with reprints of the Hooper catalogue for 1912 that shows illustrations of the car’s body, and the Booklet “Running Instructions for the C.A.V. Dynamo Lighting and Starting System”.

All four doors can be locked, which makes the car much better for keeping one’s luggage safe when on a tour. The front compartment is quite spacious, and the seat is comfortable for longer drives. The steering is reasonably light, and the brakes work well – but only on the back wheels. The foot brake is very powerful and needs only a light touch. The governor works properly, and the clutch is silky smooth when oiled. The car has large windows and good mirrors, and is easy to drive in traffic, change lanes etc. There is a large opening vent below the windshield, which keeps the car from getting too warm on warm days. The windshield can be opened too, which is helpful when the car is stationary or moving slowly.

The car has an extensive history file with multiple pictures from the 1960's onwards & also one pre ww1 photograph.  The car is due to be used for the coming summer season in British columbia prior to shipping over to us in September.  It is available for inspection & purchase prior to then & will ship anywhere in the world from British Columbia if purchased prior to arriving with us.  We will be taking more extensive pictures of the car in Vancouver around March/April time.

The car comes with  most of the essential tools, a hard-cover Owner’s Manual and all the relevant Silver Ghost Association publications.
